EganInk Artwork Formats

EganInk is a process that prints at 200 dpi. It is helpful to understand if the computer generated art is saved in one of two graphic types: Raster or vector.

Vector format file types

Raster format file types.

Vector/Raster Combination format file types

Vector graphics are the preferred graphic type for EganINK. They are geometrical bezier objects such as points, lines and shapes based on mathematical equations to appear as images and are infinitely scalable. By contrast, raster graphics are a grid of dots called pixels that is usually used for photographic images or scans, and cannot be enlarged without image degradation.

Formats like Illustrator and Acrobat support both raster and vector art to be embedded. It is very important to not embedded a low quality rastor graphic in these documents as only the vector portion will be acceptable for EganINK.
